Leadership Training & Sports Outreach Programs (background) - ARENA and FMLN are the two primary political parties in El Salvador, and also represent the government and guerilla forces that fought a brutal, decade-long civil war that ended in 1994. In many ways, the country still remains divided today by political and socio-economic status. In addition, a new civil war has begun in the streets between rival gangs that are led by "children of war." With many men either dying in the civil war or fleeing the country during that time today's Salvadoran youth often grow up without a father figure. The result has been many young boys turning to gangs for a source of camaraderie to fill that void. [More Details]

Buenos Aires (background) - is a destitute 2,000 person community located on the lava fields of El Salvador. The average income per household is less than $30 per week. Close to 85% of the families are raised by a single-mother with an average of over 4 children per household. The literacy rate is less than 50%, there is no running water or sewage system, and medical relief is a minimal. In many ways hope for the future has been oppressed by the daily struggle to survive for most of the families living there, and the common "dream" of many parents for their children is to find them employment in a sweatshop performing manual labor 15-16 hours a day so that they can generate income to support the family. Mariona Prison (background) - is one of the largest prisons in El Salvador; housing 4,400 inmates in an 800 person facility, which often equates to 12 inmates living out of a 2-person cell. The prison is heavily populated with former and current gang members from both El Salvador and deportees from the United States. [More Details]

Daily Living (Zacamil) - Zacamil is a lower to middle class community located in the capital city of El Salvador. This is the home base for our teams that are housed in numerous apartments throughout the year. We have a strong relationship with the Church of Faith and Worship where the majority of the community members attend, and even more so with the people who quickly become like family to the teams who travel with us. This is a full-immersion experience that places you right in the heart of Salvadoran culture and daily living, and becomes one of the most valuable elements of every group's experience. Our meals are prepared by a professional Salvadoran chef, teams are transported in 15-person air conditioned vans, and translators are provided for every group. [More Details]

"Discovering the Warrior Within" El Salvador Mission
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations…instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. And be sure of this: I am with you always (Matthew 28:19-20)."
"Discovering the Warrior Within" Philosophy
(see the "True Warrior" & the "True Wingman" poems). God has mission for your life that is greater than you can imagine (Jer 29:11 & Eph 3:20), and has called you to impact the lives of others. Our purpose is to raise up "Warriors" both domestically and abroad, and help them discover God's call to greatness upon their lives. Furthermore, to bring them alongside other brothers and sisters in Christ as "Wingmen" to form a Band of Brothers that are sold out to common dream and purpose focused on "making disciples of all nations."
