Buenos Aires (background) - is a destitute 2,000 person community located on the lava fields of El Salvador. The average income per household is less than $30 per week. Close to 85% of the families are raised by a single-mother with an average of over 4 children per household. The literacy rate is less than 50%, there is no running water or sewage system, and medical relief is a minimal. In many ways hope for the future has been oppressed by the daily struggle to survive for most of the families living there, and the common "dream" of many parents for their children is to find them employment in a sweatshop performing manual labor 15-16 hours a day so that they can generate income to support the family.

Plan of Action - TLA provides food, medical relief, small business start-up expertise, and Christian fellowship to the people of Buenos Aires. Many activities include planting and harvesting crops, serving a spaghetti dinner, organizing games for the children, and worshiping with the Nehemias Church Community.
Vision - To empower the people of Buenos Aires with a vision of hope for the future, and to come alongside them as brothers and sisters in Christ. Opportunities to build a church community center that would also serve as an operational hub for micro-enterprise start-ups for local craft makers, along with the potential to bring running water to the community are currently being explored.
