Mariona Prison (background) - is one of the largest prisons in El Salvador; housing 4,400 inmates in an 800 person facility, which often equates to 12 inmates living out of a 2-person cell. The prison is heavily populated with former and current gang members from both El Salvador and deportees from the United States.

Plan of Action - TLA's leadership training and sports outreach programs are being used to share the love of Jesus with the prisoners. Currently, a 24-team soccer league has began that is used as a platform to share the gospel with the inmates. TLA's teams facilitate basketball and soccer tournaments in an effort to unite the multitude of church communities in the prison, and provide a platform to minister to the other inmates. Within these multi-day outreaches, there are daily sermons, times of worship, and character-building seminars.
Vision - To empower, train, and rehabilitate the prisoners by walking with them on their journey with Christ. Opportunities to resource many of the church leaders in the prison as well as expand the character and leadership-based training offered to the inmates through athletic contests and seminars are the primary areas of focus moving forward.
